- Case Study
Tuckleys
Fast Food Ltd
1998 - Present
Tuckley's
supplies ready made meals, sweets, ice cream and frozen food
to pubs and catering outlets across the Midlands, email: tuckleysfastfood@btinternet.com.
The business has an annual turnover of £5 million, and
employs around 30 staff at its headquarters in Northampton.
The
company first came to WeatherNet in 1998. Tuckleys managing
director, Rosemary Tuckley explains.
"We
had always been aware that our sales were influenced by the
weather, but wanted to know more. WeatherNet helped us to
identify what conditions led to an upsurge in demand for our
various product lines."
The
analysis threw up some interesting results. At a certain temperature,
sales of kebabs and taco's would suddenly take off, at the
expense of curries and hot dogs.
Tuckelys
have used this new found knowledge to good effect. Rosemary
Tuckley continues:
"We
have used the information in conjunction with weather forecasts
from WeatherNet to help us to buy in the right foods at the
right time, and make sure that we always have enough stock
to meet demand. We have also been able to increase sales,
by encouraging our pub clients to offer and promote meals
that we knew would prove popular during particular spells
of weather.
The
information supplied by WeatherNet has proved to be accurate,
easy to understand and has been provided at very reasonable
cost."
